611 days – The amount of time between our last game in March 2020 since we last played basketball in Oshkosh and Opening Night on November 8. While we have been away quite some time, our commitment to the community has remained the same and continues to be a fabric of who we are.
Since March 2020, we have donated to hundreds of organizations in the Fox Valley, participated in networking events, spoken to students at high schools to give them advice on how to navigate their career and studies, been involved with speaking engagements at Marian University, the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, Chamber of Commerce events and other community endeavors.
As part of our historic 2019-20 season and finishing as the best team in the NBA G League’s Eastern Conference, we donated $10,000 on behalf of the NBA G League to the National Urban League’s Milwaukee Chapter Urban League.
We’ve teamed up with community partners to attend community events around the Fox Valley and Green Bay and have performed work far and wide. In spring and summer 2020, we hosted a virtual Lessons in Leadership series with speakers including Vin Baker and worked with Bucks Reporter Zora Stephenson to moderate a panel that highlight black leaders with the Bucks organization during Black History Month. We held a Back to Basketball Youth Clinic in September of this year with the Oshkosh YMCA where participants had the chance to meet Head Coach Chaisson Allen and go through the same drills as Herd players.
Our Bar Network program continues to expand, and we continue to highlight local businesses through Bucks watch parties, Herd watch parties and look forward to activating and supporting local during our 2021-22 NBA G League season. New this season, we will be incorporating our first-ever Art Jersey Theme Night presented by BMO Harris Bank on Monday, November 29. This one-of-a-kind activation and theme night utilized artwork designed by five designers in the Fox Valley on one jersey, and they were all auctioned off to benefit the Oshkosh Kids Foundation.
During the past year and a half, we have reimagined the value of community work with sponsors and fans and are excited about the opportunity to continue having a major impact in the Fox Valley as we Herd together again this fall and winter.
This season, 4imprint is donating $10 to Make-A-Wish for each Herd three-pointer during the 24 home games. Check out how much we’ve raised to date!
Our theme night game-worn jerseys are specially designed uniforms donned by players during select home games throughout the season. Each design highlights a cause, initiative, or theme and are auctioned off after these games. All proceeds from our jersey auction benefit local non-profit organizations throughout the Fox Valley and provide fans with a unique keepsake of a lifetime! This season we raised over $12,000!
