Community Spotlight

Since launching in 2017, the Wisconsin Herd has strived to weave themselves into the fabric of the community. From basketball camps to food drives the Herd is always looking for ways to make a positive impact in the community. Over the last five seasons, the Herd has donated over $278,000 in cash and in-kind through various fundraising platforms and activations.

MAKE-A-WISH SHOPPING EVENT

All six seasons, the Herd has teamed up with SCHEELS and Make-A-Wish for its annual Season of Giving Shopping Event. This event grants holiday wishes for five local Make-A-Wish kids. Each youth receives a signed Herd basketball, four courtside seats, a Herd swag bag and a $300 in-store shopping spree with Herd players, Pointer and the Herd front office.

4IMPRINTFORWISHES presented by 4imprint

For the past three seasons, 4imprint and the Herd have teamed up to donate $10 to Make-A-Wish for each Herd three-pointer made during the 24 home games!

PROTECT THIS HOUSE presented by Adashun Jones

For every block by a Herd player during a home game this season, Adashun Jones and the Wisconsin Herd will donate $10 to Oshkosh Habitat for Humanity.

DUNK ON HUNGER presented by Scooter’s Coffee

Scooter’s Coffee and the Wisconsin Herd are a slam dunk– and now every time a Herd player dunks during a home game, the Oshkosh Area Community Pantry will receive a $10 donation.

JERSEY AUCTION

Our theme night game-worn jerseys are specially designed uniforms donned by players during select home games throughout the season. Each design highlights a cause, initiative, or theme and are auctioned off after these games. All proceeds from our jersey auction benefit local non-profit organizations throughout the Fox Valley and provide fans with a unique keepsake of a lifetime! This season we raised over $12,000! Visit our online jersey auction at https://wisconsin.gleague.nba.com/themejerseys.

NONPROFIT OF THE NIGHT PRESENTED BY BAYLAND BUILDINGS, INC.

Each Herd home game features a Nonprofit of the Night! Organizations receive benefits such as showcasing their cause, attending the game, and more! Interested in being the Nonprofit of the Night? Contact 920-233-HERD (4373).

SCHOOL DAYS presented by BMO

Every season, the Herd hosts a matinee BMO School Day game. The Herd invites schools from all over Wisconsin to join them for an education-themed game. Every child gets a lunchbox and a workbook tied to the educational component, courtesy of BMO. In past seasons the themes for these games have been STEM, health & wellness, anti-bullying, and mental health. In season three, the Herd hosted the world’s largest upstander pledge at an event.

BOOTS VS BADGES

Since season two, the Herd has hosted a Boots vs. Badges basketball game featuring the Oshkosh Fire Department and the Winnebago County Sherriff Department. Over three seasons, the Herd has raised more than $3,800 for the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit and the Oshkosh Fire Department Dive & Rescue Team. This season, the Herd hosted a second Boots vs. Badges game with the Appleton Police Department and the Neenah/Menasha Fire Rescue and raised over $500.

During the past year and a half, we have reimagined the value of community work with sponsors and fans and are excited about the opportunity to continue having a major impact in the Fox Valley as we Herd together again this fall and winter.
