WISCONSIN HERD UNSUCCESSFUL AGAINST FORT WAYNE MAD ANTS

Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, lost to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 128-114. The Herd started the game on a hot streak going up by six points in the first eight minutes, but the Mad Ants came back to tie the game 30-30. The two teams tied four times before the Mad Ants ran away with the lead 64-57 at the end of the first half. The Herd came back to within three in the third quarter, but it wasn’t enough to take the lead. The Mad Ants marched away in the fourth quarter outscoring the Herd 36-29.
Sandro Mamukelashvili guided the Herd with a double-double of 26 points and 11 rebounds while Joe Wieskamp followed with 25 points.
Gabe York led the Fort Wayne Mad Ants with 25 points while Justin Anderson added 22 points.
Sandro Mamukelashvili and Joe Wieskmap combined for four points to start the game. The Herd continued their run, outscoring the Mad Ants 16-10 to go ahead by 10 points. Sandro Mamukelashvili converted consecutive baskets to put the Herd up 27-21 at the four-minute mark. The Mad Ants came back with seven unanswered points to take their first lead of the game 28-27. The Herd came back to tie the game at the end of the first quarter 30-30.
The Herd opened the second quarter outscoring the Mad Ants 8-3 to go ahead 38-33. The Mad Ants resurfaced to tie the game for a second time at 40-40. Fort Wayne stole the lead going ahead 48-44. The Herd battled back to even the game 50-50 but the Mad Ants went on an 8-0 run to go up 58-50. The Mad Ants rose above the Herd 64-57 at the end of the first half. Sandro Mamukelashvili led the Herd with 12 points.
Joe Wieskamp scored consecutive three-point shots to start the third quarter. The Mad Ants scored five straight points to propel to a 75-66 lead. Sandro Mamukelashvili and Joe Wieskamp joined forces for six points cutting Fort Wayne’s head start to five. Iverson Molinar continued the comeback with a three-point play. Sandro Mamukelashvili hit back-to-back baskets to put the Herd within three. The Mad Ants responded with two baskets to increase their lead to 92-85 at the end of the third quarter.
Joe Wieskamp hit his fifth three of the game to begin the fourth quarter. The Mad Ants returned with 12 unanswered points, increasing their lead to 104-88. Joe Wieskamp completed a technical foul free throw at the seven-minute mark. The Mad Ants scored nine consecutive points, but Brandon Randolph put an end to their run with a three-point play. Jordan Bone and Nate Roberts added two points each to bring the Herd to 96 points. Iverson Molinar completed a three-point play and a dunk to cut down Fort Wayne’s lead. Sandro Mamukelashvili added six consecutive points bringing the Herd within 16. Joe Wieskamp added a three-point play and Elijah Hughes completed a layup to end the game. The Herd lost 128-114. The Herd will head out to Las Vegas for the NBA G League Showcase Cup taking place from December 19th- 22nd. A schedule will be released at a later date.
