WISCONSIN HERD ROUTED BY THE DELAWARE BLUE COATS

OSHKOSH, Wis. (January 16, 2023)- The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, lost to the Delaware Blue Coats 153-132. The Blue Coats took an early lead in the first quarter pushing ahead to a 38-32 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Herd continued to battle but the Blue Coats kept the game in their favor and grew to a 18 point head start in the third quarter. The Blue Coats ran away with the win in the fourth quarter outscoring the Herd 37-29.
Lindell Wigginton guided the Wisconsin Herd with 29 points, six rebounds and five assists while Paris Bass added a double-double of 27 points and 13 rebounds.
The Delaware Blue Coats were captained by Mac McClung with 40 points followed by Louis King with 23 points.
Delaware opened the game outscoring the Herd 15-3 to have a 12-point lead at the seven-minute mark. The Blue Coats continued to increase their lead till Paris Bass scored five consecutive points to bring the Herd within 10 points. The Herd rebounded to tie the game 27-27 at the three-minute mark. The two teams traded baskets, but the Blue Coats closed out the quarter with six unanswered points to go ahead 38-32.
The Blue Coats charged ahead by 10 points in the beginning of the second quarter. Paris Bass scored back-to-back baskets to help the Herd claw back. Lindell Wigginton aided the Herd’s comeback scoring 10 consecutive points, to bring the Herd within three points at the six-minute mark. The Blue Coats answered going ahead by nine points. Jordan Bone and Paris Bass teamed up to bring the Herd within five points at the two-minute mark. Lindell Wigginton closed out the half with two free throws but Delaware remained up 76-67 at the end of the first half. Lindell Wigginton led the Herd with 21 points followed by Paris Bass with 15 points in the first half.
Rob Edwards and Paris Bass combined to outscore the Blue Coats 10-4 to come within four points at the beginning of the third quarter. The Blue Coats turned around seven untouched points to go ahead by 11 points at the eight-minute mark. The Blue Coats continued to climb to 100-82 but Elijah Hughes and Brandon Randolph scored back-to-back threes. Elijah Hughes added another three-point shot to bring his total to four made three-pointers. Jordan Bone scored four more shots before Lindell Wigginton hit a three-point buzzer beater to end the third quarter. Delaware led 116-103 at the end of the third quarter.
Paris Bass opened the fourth quarter with two baskets in a row to put the Herd within 10 points at the ten-minute mark. Lindell Wigginton and Rob Edwards hit back-to-back three-point baskets while Paris Bass added a free throw to push the Herd to 116. The Blue Coats turned around to power ahead to 138-120. Alex Antetokounmpo scored six points in the last five minutes of the half, but it wasn’t enough to propel the Herd to a victory. The Blue Coats beat the Herd 153-132.
The Herd returns home on Wednesday, January 18 to take on the Westchester Knicks at 11:30 a.m. CST.
