WISCONSIN HERD OVERPOWERED BY FORT WAYNE MAD ANTS

The Wisconsin Herd, NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, lost to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 128-114.

The Herd was led by Paris Bass with a double-double of 26 points and 12 rebounds. Deividas Siryvdis followed with 22 points alongside six assists. Four Herd players added double-digit scoring including two double-doubles from Alex Antetokounmpo (13 points, 10 rebounds) and Brandon Sampson (16 points, 10 rebounds.

Justin Anderson paced the Mad Ants with 31 points while two-way player Trevelin Queen followed with 27 points.

The Herd shot 47.6% from the field and capitalized on free throws at a 71.4% rate. The game was strongly influenced at the rim with both teams securing over 70 of their points in the paint. The Herd out hustled the Mad Ants by five rebounds and four blocked shots.

The Herd opened the game by scoring the first eight points including back-to-back threes. The Mad Ants responded with a 12-10 run to take the lead before Brandon Sampson hit a layup to tie the game. Deividas Sirvydis and Paris Bass teamed up for five points to give the Herd a three-point head start. The Mad Ants crawled back to go ahead by four at the end of the first quarter. The Mad Ants came out strong at the beginning of the second quarter going ahead by 11 points. The Herd made several runs to try to capitalize on the lead but the Mad Ants remained on top at the half.

The Herd made a small comeback outscoring the Mad Ants in the third quarter while shooting 62.5% from the field. The Herd continued to make strides coming within seven points with ten minutes remaining, but the Mad Ants didn’t let the Herd. Led by Justin Anderson with 13 points in the fourth quarter, the Mad Ants outscored the Herd to win.  

The Herd returns to Oshkosh for their last regular season home game on Tuesday, March 21 against the Grand Rapids Gold with tip-off set for 6:00 p.m. CST.
