WISCONSIN HERD DROPS TO THE FORT WAYNE MAD ANTS

The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, lost to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 128-110. Wisconsin started on a hot streak but couldn’t secure the lead at the end of the first quarter. The Herd inched back but a 14-0 run by the Mad Ants in the third quarter to go up 80-60. The Herd battled back in the fourth quarter outscoring the Mad Ants 37-31 but it wasn’t enough to secure the win.
Brandon Randolph led the Herd with a career-high 25 points and seven rebounds while Lindell Wigginton added 21 points.
Trevelin Queen guided the Mad Ants with a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds while Justin Anderson and Gabe York added 21 each.
Brandon Randolph and AJ Green combined for five points to begin the game. Brandon Randolph hit a three and Jordan Bone added a three-point play to put the Herd up 12-6. The Mad Ants answered by outscoring the Herd 17-2 to go ahead 23- 14 at the four-minute mark. The two teams traded baskets until Brandon Randolph hit back-to-back layups to end the quarter. Fort Wayne was ahead 31-27.
Joe Wieskamp opened the second quarter with a three-point shot to put the Herd within one, but the Mad Ants turned around to increase their lead by 13 points. The Herd powered back to cut down Fort Wayne’s lead to six points. The Herd continued to dominate, scoring seven unanswered points to come within one. The Mad Ants led at the end of the first half 59-54. Brandon Randolph guided the Herd with 17 points while shooting 70% from the field and 75% from the three-point line in the first half.
The Herd worked its way back to be within four points at the beginning of the third quarter, but the Mad Ants ran away with 14 unanswered points to go up by 20 points at the six-minute mark. Joe Wieskamp hit back-to-back baskets to cut down Fort Wayne’s lead to 17. Brandon Randolph closed out the quarter with consecutive baskets. The Fort Wayne Mad Ants were up 97-73 at the end of the third quarter.
Brandon Randolph and Lindell Wigginton combined for eight points to start the fourth quarter. The Herd edged back to come within 12 points at the five-minute mark. Elijah Hughes hit consecutive baskets to bring his total points to 11. Lindell Wigginton hit a driving layup to end the game. The Mad Ants beat the Herd 128-110.
The Wisconsin Herd will host the Fort Wayne Mad Ants again on Friday, December 16th with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m. CST at Oshkosh Arena.
