WISCONSIN HERD DROPS TO SIOUX FALLS SKYFORCE

The Wisconsin Herd, NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, lost to the Sioux Falls Skyforce 117-106. Glenn Robinson III got off to a hot start hitting three of the first four baskets for the Herd. Sioux Falls went ahead and pushed to a double-digit lead at the end of the first quarter. The Herd rallied in the second quarter to tie the game after outscoring the Skyforce 35-25 while shooting over 57% from three-point line. The Herd grabbed its first lead of the game in the third quarter and held on through five lead changes to go up 87-82 at the end of the third. Wisconsin pushed ahead to a seven-point advantage, but Sioux Falls took control of the game with a 16-0 run to grab the win.
Milwaukee Bucks Two-Way player Marques Bolden powered the Herd with 17 points while Lindell Wigginton and Wenyen Gabriel added 15 each.
Cole Swider propelled Sioux Falls with 34 points and Jamal Cain added 19 points.
Sioux Falls secured the first points of the game, but Glenn Robinson III answered to even the game. The Skyforce sunk a three-pointer next to take the lead. Glenn Robinson III hit consecutive shots to keep the Herd close, but it wasn’t enough to grab control. Sioux Falls built its lead to eight points and then increased it again to 11 at the three-minute mark. Wisconsin responded with back-to-back jump shots to diminish the Skyforce’s head start. Sioux Falls scored two more baskets before Elijah Hughes converted the last basket of the quarter. The Skyforce led at the break 35-25.
Wenyen Gabriel hit a three-pointer to start the second quarter. Elijah Hughes and TyTy Washington combined for five points to cut Sioux Falls to a four-point advantage. The Skyforce stopped the run, but the Herd answered every basket. Iverson Molinar and Lindell Wigginton scored two points each to bring the Herd within five points. The Skyforce ran away with a big lead, but the Herd didn’t back down and went on to outscore Sioux Falls 12-8 to come with three-minutes left in the second. The two teams traded baskets until the Herd evened the game 60-60 at the half. TyTy Washington Jr. guided the Herd with 11 points.
The Skyforce scored the first points of the third quarter, but Marques Bolden followed with a three to take the Herd’s first lead of the game. Lindell Wigginton and Glenn Robinson III teamed up for four points to put the Herd ahead by two points. The Herd continued to grow to a four-point advantage at the eight-minute mark. Sioux Falls rallied back to take control of the game briefly before Weynen Gabriel and Elijah Hughes grabbed it back with consecutive baskets. The Skyforce tried to battle back but the Herd held a strong lead going up by five points at the end of the quarter, 87-82.
Ibou Badji put in a layup to get the fourth quarter started and to push the Herd ahead by seven points. Sioux Falls battled back to tie the game and eventually took a two-point advantage. The Herd responded to even the game once before the Skyforce went on a 16-0 run. The Herd rallied with a 10-2 run to cut the lead to eight points. The score was paused for two minutes before the Skyforce hit a jump shot. Stevie Thompson Jr. secured a layup before the Skyforce hit one last shot to win the game 117-106.
The Herd will hit the road to take on the Motor City Cruise on November 30 with tip-off set for 6:00 p.m. CST. Fans can watch the game on tv32 and ESPN+.
