WISCONSIN HERD DEFEATED IN FINAL SHOWCASE GAME

The Wisconsin Herd, NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, lost to the Texas Legends 121 – 103.

The Wisconsin Herd was led by Milwaukee Bucks two-way player Marques Bolden with 19 points while Drew Timme added 16 points off the bench.

The Texas Legends' top scorer was Jordan Walker with 32 points followed by Justin Jackson and Joe Wieskamp with 19 points each.

Milwaukee Bucks assignment player Chris Livingston got the game started with a steal and dunk to give the Herd the first lead of the game. Texas answered with a 19-7 run to take a double-digit head start early in the first quarter. The teams traded baskets until the Herd broke out with 11 straight points to make it a one-point game. The Legends stopped the run with back-to-back shots to put them up 27-22. The Legends kept the Herd at bay sneaking away with a 36-28-point advantage at the end of the first.

Drew Timme hit a jump shot to start the second quarter. The Legends were quick to respond with a 9-0 run to take a 13-point edge. The Herd battled back scoring the next four baskets to come within six points. Texas converted one layup before Alex Antetokounmpo and Lindell Wigginton each made one basket. The teams matched each basket until the Legends hit seven consecutive points to push ahead to another double-digit advantage. Wisconsin knocked down the Legends’ lead to nine at the break. Texas led 65-56 at the end of the first half. Milwaukee Bucks assignment player Chris Livingston guided the team with 12 points.

Lindell Wigginton opened the third quarter with a three-point shot. The teams swapped baskets for the next three minutes before the Legends hit back-to-back shots to go ahead by 11. The Herd answered with consecutive baskets of their own before entering a two-minute scoring drought. Marques Bolden converted successive baskets to bring the Herd out of the dry spell. The Herd slowly cut down Texas’ lead to six points at the two-minute mark. The Legends scored two baskets to close out the third quarter 92-82.

The Texas Legends made the first two baskets of the fourth quarter to go ahead by 14 points. The Legends continued to control the quarter creating a near 20-point lead at the seven-minute mark. Drew Timme converted on the next three baskets for the Herd to kickstart a 7-0 run for the Herd. The teams traded baskets keeping the Herd within 15 points. In the end, the Legends beat the Herd 121 – 103.

The Herd will kick off the regular season on Dec. 27 at the Long Island Nets with tip-off set for 4:00 p.m. CST. All records will restart for the regular season.
