WISCONSIN HERD DEFEATED BY INDIANA MAD ANTS

The Wisconsin Herd, NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, lost to the Indiana Mad Ants 110 – 102. The Herd came out with strong defense limiting the Mad Ants to one three-point basket in the first half while going up 48-42. Indiana hit a deadly 15-5 run in the third quarter to take their first lead of the game. The teams battled in the third quarter, but the Mad Ants came out on top at the break. The fourth quarter featured a fight to the end with eight lead changes and five times tied. Ultimately, the Mad Ants secured the win.

Milwaukee Bucks two-way player Lindell Wigginton led the Herd with 17 points followed by Elijah Hughes with 15.

Indiana’s top scorer was Isaiah Wong with 22 points while Kyle Mangas added 17 points.

Marques Bolden and Glenn Robinson III combined for eight points to start the game. The Herd secured seven more points to take a near double-digit lead early. The Mad Ants responded with six straight points to come within three points at the four-minute mark. The Herd connected on consecutive baskets, but Indiana came back to tie the game 19-19. The teams tied once more before Stevie Thomspon Jr. hit a buzzer-beater to take the lead 23-21 at the end of the first quarter.

The Herd outscored the Mad Ants 8-2 to go up 31-23 in the first two minutes of the second quarter. Drew Timme added one more basket before Indiana scored three baskets to come within two. Wenyen Gabriel laid in a basket, but the Mad Ants rallied to tie the game. The Herd took control with a 10-5 run to grab a five-point lead. Indiana made a free throw, but Lindell Wigginton hit a buzzer-beater beyond the arc to grab a 48-42 point advantage for the Herd. Glenn Robinson III guided the Herd with six points in the first half.

The Mad Ants opened the third quarter with a 15-5 run to take the lead. Milwaukee Bucks two-way players Lindell Wigginton and TyTy Washington hit back-to-back threes but the Mad Ants answered with two three-pointers as well. The Herd responded with six unanswered points to tie the game 65-65. Indiana pulled ahead again but the Herd came back to tie the game at the one-minute mark. The Mad Ants hit two baskets before Jazian Gortman converted a three-point play at the end of the quarter. The Mad Ants led 75-74.

Elijah Hughes and Stevie Thompson Jr. teamed up for four points to take the lead early in the fourth quarter. The Mad Ants rallied to go up 84-83 but Elijah Hughes converted a three-point play to put the Herd back in control. The teams battled it out, tying the game twice before the Mad Ants grabbed a two-point edge. The Herd tied the game two more times again before Indiana pushed ahead to a four-point advantage. Lindell Wigginton secured a free throw for two points, but the Mad Ants scored the next seven points. Lindell Wigginton hit one more layup before the Mad Ants closed out the game with two free throws. Indiana beat Wisconsin 110 – 102.

 The Herd will return home to take on the Grand Rapids Gold on Friday, December 15 with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m. CST.
