WISCONSIN HERD CRUISES PAST MOTOR CITY

The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, beat the Motor City Cruise 137-112. The Herd dominated the second and third quarters offensively, scoring over 40 points in each. The Herd also dominated defensively, keeping the Cruise to 25 points in the third and fourth quarters. The Herd pushed past Motor City to win 137-112.

The Cruise hit the first points of the game, but Jontay Porter hit a jump shot to put the Herd on the board. Two back-to-back fast break baskets put the Herd up 7-6 at the seven-minute mark. The Cruise answered, taking the lead but the Herd battled back to tie the game 16-16. The Cruise went on a 14-4 run to go up 30-20 with one minute remaining in the quarter. The Cruise finished the quarter up 30-22.

Wisconsin opened the second quarter with consecutive threes by Alex Antetokounmpo and Elijah Hughes. The Herd scored six unanswered points to come within two at the seven-minute mark. The Cruise turned around to build their lead to 48-40. Lindell Wigginton and Joe Wieskamp combined for five points to put the Herd within three points. Jordan Bone hit back-to-back baskets to put the Herd ahead 52-51. The Cruise took the lead back, but Jontay Porter hit two threes in a row to put the Herd up 58-53. The Herd held on to lead 63-62 at the end of the half. Lindell Wigginton led the Herd with 14 points followed by Joe Wieskamp with 10.

The Herd opened the third quarter outscoring the Cruise 15-2 to go up by 14. The Cruise fought back to come within eight but the Herd pulled ahead to go up by 20 with less than a minute left. The Herd led 105-87 at the end of the third quarter. Lindell Wigginton was on top for the Herd with 18 points.

Alex Antetokounmpo hit his second three of the game pushing the Herd to 113-91. The Herd continued to increase their lead. Elijah Hughes hit a three-point basket and put the Herd up 122-100. With four minutes left the Herd led 131-104. Wigginton and Wieskamp combined for 8 points to put the Herd above 133-106. To end the game, Ibou Badji made consecutive dunks. The Herd paced themselves to a 25-point lead winning 137-112.
