WISCONSIN HERD COMPLETES 3-0 SWEEP OVER MOTOR CITY CRUISE

Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, beat the Motor City Cruise 117-105. The Cruise led at end of the first quarter and the first half but a strong defensive second half by the Herd kept Motor City to a season-low of 39 points. The Herd bench combined for 62 points compared to 34 bench points for the Cruise. The win completed a 3-0 sweep for the Herd over the Motor City Cruise.

In his first game with the Wisconsin Herd, A.J. Green led all Herd scorers with 22 points followed by Rob Edwards with 20 points.

Stanley Umude was on top for the Motor City Cruise with 25 points while Jules Bernard added a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Rob Edwards scored the first basket for the Herd. The Cruise went on a 9-0 run to go up 9-2 at the ten-minute mark. Jontay Porter and Elijah Hughes both secured a basket to put the Herd within one. The Cruise answered to go up by six, but A.J. Green hit his first points for the Herd to bring them within three. The Cruise held on to lead 30-23 at the end of the first quarter.

The Herd opened the second quarter with a 20-13 run to tie the game for the first time at 43-43. The Cruise stole back the lead, but Joe Wieskamp and Jordan Bone combined for five points to advance the Herd. The two teams traded the lead four times before the Cruise went up by three. The Herd battled back to come within one, 65-64 at the end of the first half. Jordan Bone led Wisconsin with 13 points in the first half.

Rob Edwards hit a three-point shot to push the Herd up 67-65 at the beginning of the third quarter. The Herd continued to increase their lead going on a 7-4 run. The two teams traded baskets until the Cruise scored seven unanswered points to go ahead. The Herd quickly rebounded to go back up 87-83 at the end of the third quarter.

The Herd opened the fourth quarter with six unanswered points to make the score 93-83. The Cruise responded with eight points, bringing them within two. At the four-minute mark the two teams tied again at 101-101. The Cruise sealed a layup to go in front 103-101 but A.J. Green hit back-to-back three-point baskets to put the Herd in the lead. Lindell Wigginton and Rob Edwards combined for six points in the last minute of the fourth quarter to win the game 117-105.

The Herd will play again on Saturday, November 19 at 7:00 p.m. CST in the first of two back-to-back games against the Iowa Wolves.
