Herd loses the second game of the season now 7-2

OSHKOSH, Wis. (December 4, 2021)- The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, lost to the Grand Rapids Gold 111-107. With 20 seconds remaining in the game, the Herd was down 108-107. The Grand Rapids Gold capitalized on three free throws from Marcus Burk and Devonte Patterson to close out the game.

Lindell Wigginton led the Herd with 28 points and Tremont Waters added 22 points. The Grand Rapids Gold was led by Nik Stauskas with 23 points and Lance Stephenson followed with 18 points. Manny Camper led the Gold with 14 rebounds and Giorgi Bezhanishvili added 13. Wenyen Gabriel led the Herd with nine rebounds and six blocks.

The Herd was down 73-72 at the end of the third quarter. Manny Camper had a double-double for the Gold with 12 rebounds and 12 points at the end of the third quarter. Camper ended the game with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

With three minutes left in the fourth quarter, the Herd had a four-point run to put them ahead 104-103. Tremont Waters went one-for-one for free throws and Wigginton scored a three-pointer to put the Herd up. There was a total of seven lead changes in the fourth quarter.

The Grand Rapids Gold had five second-chance points at the end of the first quarter with no points earned. The Herd was down by nine points before going on a 9-0 run, bringing them to a tie with the Gold. The Herd led at the first quarter 27-26.

The Wisconsin Herd ran into foul trouble with three minutes remaining in the first half. The Grand Rapids had a 5-0 run and 15 offensive rebounds which put them ahead in the second quarter. There was a total of nine turnovers in the second quarter for the Herd. At the half, Wigginton led with 13 points and Gabriel led with eight rebounds for the Herd.

The Wisconsin Herd will play next at home against the Cleveland Charge on Sunday, December 12 with tip-off at 12 PM CT.
