HERD’S FOURTH-QUARTER COMEBACK NOT ENOUGH TO SECURE THE WIN

The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, lost to the Raptors 905, 135-126. The two teams went back and forth in the first quarter resulting in eight lead changes and three times tied. The Raptors took a huge stride going up by 23 in the second quarter but the Herd rallied back with a huge run of 14-7 to close out the third quarter. The huge comeback came in the fourth quarter when the Herd battled back to come within eight points at the eight-minute mark. The rebound continued as the Herd battled back with a minute remaining. The Raptors held off the Herd to win.
The Wisconsin Herd was guided by Jordan Bone with a double-double of 28 points and 14 assists followed by Paris Bass with 25 points. Elijah Hughes added a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Raptors 905 was led by Reggie Perry with 26 points while David Johnson and Ron Harper Jr. added 22 points each.
The Raptors opened the game going ahead 4-0 but Elijah Hughes and Nate Roberts teamed up to take back the lead 5-4. The 905 went up again but the lead was short-lived as the Herd gained control 15-14 at the seven-minute mark. Paris Bass scored eight consecutive points including two three-pointers. The Raptors answered by grabbing the lead but it was traded to the Herd at the three-minute mark. The Herd built a five-point lead 32-27. The 905 closed out the quarter with 12 straight points to lead 39-32 at the end of the first quarter.
The Herd outscored the Raptors 12-8 to come within three points at the beginning of the second quarter. The Raptors ran away from the Herd, building a nine-point lead at the eight-minute mark. Paris Bass and Jordan bone added a basket each to end the Raptors' run. The two baskets didn’t stop the Raptors for long as the Herd climbed to a 63-48 lead. The 905 continued to push ahead by 23 points. Paris Bass closed out the half with back-to-back baskets. The Raptors led 77-55 at the half. Paris Bass led the Herd with 21 points.
The Raptors opened the third quarter outscoring the Herd 7-2. The Herd resurged with a 14-2 run to cut down the Raptors’ lead. Iverson Molinar added back-to-back baskets to the Herd’s comeback. The Herd didn’t stop there and went on to outscore the Raptors 14-7 including three consecutive three-point shots to end the third quarter. The Raptors led 103-89.
Rob Edwards opened the fourth quarter with a three-point basket while Brandon Randolph followed with seven straight points. Rob Edwards and Jordan Bone added a basket each to put the Herd within 10 points at the nine-minute mark. The three continued to push the Herd ahead with a combined nine points to bring the Herd within eight points at the five-minute mark. Jordan Bone and Rob Edwards teamed up for 12 points in three minutes to bring the Herd within four. The Raptors held off the run to win the game 135-126.
