HERD WINS FIRST DOUBLE OVERTIME OF THE SEASON

Herd undefeated in regular season

OSHKOSH, Wis, (January 5, 2022) – The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, beat the Delaware Blue Coats 124-123 in double overtime. Terry Larrier hit a three to tie and send the game into overtime at 113-113. The two teams scored five points each to send the game into double overtime at 118-118. Lindell Wigginton had four points and Terry Larrier had two points in double overtime to win the game 124-123.

Five Herd players scored in double digits including two 20+ efforts. The Herd was led by Lindell Wigginton with a double-double of a career and team high 33 points and ten assists. In his first game with the Herd, Jaylen Bland followed Wigginton with 24 points. Javin DeLaurier topped both teams with 17 rebounds.

The Delaware Blue Coats were led by Jared Brownridge with 36 points and Shamorie Ponds added 30 points.

Lindell Wigginton scored a three to put the Herd up 121-118. Wigginton made one free throw to put the Herd up 122-118. The Blue Coats came back with a three-pointer to make the score 122-121 with the Herd up. Terry Larrier made two free throws to put the Herd up 124-121 with five seconds left. The Herd secured the win at 124-123.

The Blue Coats scored a three, but Jaylen Bland answered with his seventh three of the game to tie the game at 116-116. The two teams scored a basket each to send the game into double overtime at 118-118.
The Herd started the game going 0-4 from the three-point line until Jaylen Bland had his first three to put the Herd up 17-13. The Blue Coats answered going on a 10-0 run to lead 25-17 with two minutes left in the first quarter. Terry Larrier scored four points to end the quarter. The Blue Coats led at the end of the first quarter 29-25. Terry Larrier was on top with eight points for the Herd.

Michael Gilmore hit the second three of the game to bring the Herd within three points. The Herd went on a 11-3 run to bring the score to 45-44. The teams traded baskets keeping the Herd within one point of the Blue Coats. The Blue Coats slowly took the lead to end the half on top 56-50. There were no lead changes in the second quarter.

Lindell Wigginton led the Herd with 11 points at half while Terry Larrier added 10 points. There was a total of 7 lead changes and 2 times tied throughout the first half. The Blue Coats had eight steals while the Herd had two.

The Blue Coats went on a 30-20 run to lead 86-70 with four minutes left in the third quarter. The Blue Coats stayed ahead to lead at the end of the third quarter 96-79. Lindell Wigginton led the Herd with 19 points and Terry Larrier added 15 points. Jaylen Bland led the Herd with four made three-pointers.

The Herd went on a 11-2 run to open the fourth quarter bringing the score to 98-90 with the Blue Coats ahead. Jaylen Bland hit his sixth three-pointer of the game to put the Herd behind eight points. With six minutes left in the third quarter the Herd was down 102-97. Michael Gilmore fouled out with five minutes left in the fourth quarter. Alex Robinson converted a three-point play to put the Herd down by seven, 107-100. The Herd went on a 10-6 run to put them within three points. With 11 seconds left Terry Larrier hit a three to tie and send the game into overtime.

The Herd will play their next game on Sunday January 9 at Maine Celtics at 12:00 p.m.
