HERD SWATS THE SWARM

The Wisconsin Herd, NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, beat the Greensboro Swarm 124-111.
TyTy Washington Jr. powered the Herd to the win with a double-double for a personal season-high 28 points and an all-time franchise record of 15 assists. Marques Bolden followed with 24 points while Wenyen Gabriel added a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds.
The Greensboro Swarm’s top scorer was Armani Bailey with 31 points while Marcus Garrett and Jeremiah Tilmon posted 17 points each.
The Swarm connected on the first two baskets of the game taking an early lead. The Herd responded quickly tying the game twice before TyTy Washington Jr. hit a three to put them over the top. The Swarm stole the lead back once more before the Herd hit back-to-baskets to go up by three. Greensboro came back to tie the game 19-19 at the four-minute mark. The Herd ran away with a 17-7 run to close out the first quarter up by 12 points. The Herd led 38-26.
The Herd increased to a near 20-point lead scoring three straight baskets to start the second quarter. Greensboro countered with six unanswered points to come within 11 points. The Herd converted on the next two baskets to keep the double-digit lead alive. The teams traded baskets until the Herd converted on three consecutive baskets. Wisconsin held on to lead 69-50 at the break. Wenyen Gabriel propelled the Herd with 16 points.
Wisconsin made the first two baskets of the third quarter to go up by 24 points. The Herd steadily continued to push ahead grabbing a near 30-point lead at the eight-minute mark. Greensboro charged back with 10 unanswered points to come within 19 points. For the next three minutes, the Herd went on to outscore the Swarm by 10 points. The Swarm closed out the third quarter with a 12-0 run, but the Herd still led 103-86.
The Herd pushed ahead to a 20-point lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Greensboro hit one basket before the Herd scored 12 straight points. The teams traded baskets before the Swarm rallied and converted 16 unanswered points to come within 13 points. Alex Antetokounmpo slammed home a dunk to close out the game for the Herd. Wisconsin beat Greensboro 124-111.
The Wisconsin Herd will host the Greensboro Swarm for the second game of the back-to-back series tomorrow, January 6th with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m. CST.
