HERD STOPS THE GO-GO

The Wisconsin Herd, NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, beat the Capital City Go-Go 125-111.

Milwaukee Bucks two-way player TyTy Washington Jr. powered the Herd with a double-double of 34 points and 12 assists while Ryan Rollins added 21 points. Seven Herd players finished in double-digits for points.

The Capital City Go-Go’s top scorers were R.J. Hampton with 32 points followed by Hamidou Diallo with 22 points.

The Go-Go connected on the first basket of the game but the Herd was quick to answer with nine straight points to take the lead. Wisconsin stayed consistent going ahead by nearly double digits after consecutive baskets by TyTy Washington Jr. and Aleem Ford. The Herd continued to outscore Capital City 12-10 over the next four minutes to secure the 10-point advantage. Capital City tried to battle back but Wisconsin had an answer for every basket. The Go-Go made a small run with two minutes left to come within five at the end of the first quarter. The Herd led 33-28.

Jaylin Galloway opened the second quarter by converting a three-point play. After the teams traded three sets of baskets, James Akinjo pushed the Herd ahead 46-34 with three straight buckets. Wisconsin continued to dominate offensively, adding 10 unanswered points to grab a 22-point edge. Capital City cut the Herd’s lead to 17 momentarily before Wisconsin pushed ahead by 24 at the three-minute mark. The teams exchanged baskets to close out the half in favor of the Herd 70-48. TyTy Washington Jr. guided Wisconsin with 13 points while three players followed with 10 points each in the first half.

TyTy Washington Jr. knocked down a shot from beyond the arc on the first possession of the third quarter. Marquese Chriss followed with back-to-back dunks while Ryan Rollins added a three-pointer to give the Herd a 28-point advantage. Wisconsin increased to a 94-65 lead after TyTy Washington Jr. and Glenn Robinson III combined for three sequential deep shots. Each team scored a basket before scoring went silent for three minutes. The Go-Go secured two baskets before Aleem Ford made a free throw to end the quarter and put the Herd ahead 100-76.

Both teams connected on two baskets each to begin the fourth quarter. The Go-Go made a comeback cutting the Herd’s lead to 17 midway through the quarter. Wisconsin took back control of the game 119-94. Capital City responded with a 9-0 run bringing the game back to a 16-point difference. Ryan Rollins and TyTy Washington Jr. secured a basket each while Marquese Chriss threw down a dunk within the last minute of the game. Wisconsin beat the Go-Go 125-111.

The Herd will remain on the road to take on the Raptors 905 on Saturday, Mar. 23 with tip-off set for 1:00 p.m. CT.
