HERD COMPLETES TRADE WITH GREENSBORO SWARM

The Wisconsin Herd, NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, has acquired the returning player rights to Marcus Garrett, the returning player rights to Evan Gilyard and a second-round pick in the 2027 NBA G League Draft from the Greensboro Swarm in exchange for the returning player rights to Kobe Stewart.

Garrett, a 6-foot-6, 196-pound guard, has appeared in 154 career NBA G League games with the Greensboro Swarm and Sioux Falls Skyforce, averaging 10.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. He has also appeared in 16 NBA games across the Miami Heat and Charlotte Hornets. Garrett played 12 games with Miami while on a two-way contract during the 2021-22 season and later earned an NBA call-up with Charlotte during the 2024-25 campaign.

Prior to his professional career, Garrett played four seasons at Kansas, appearing in 129 games and averaging 7.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game. As a senior, he averaged career highs of 11.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists per contest. Garrett was named the 2020 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year, earned Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year honors and was a three-time selection to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team.

Gilyard, a 5-foot-11, 156-pound guard, has appeared in 125 career NBA G League games with the Windy City Bulls, Rip City Remix, Memphis Hustle and Greensboro Swarm, averaging 8.9 points, 1.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. During the 2024-25 season with the Rip City Remix, he averaged a career-high 11.5 points, 1.9 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 46 games.

Before his professional career, Gilyard played collegiately at the University of Texas at El Paso, New Mexico State and the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He averaged 16.7 points and 3.3 assists in his final collegiate season at Missouri-Kansas City.
