GO GREEN NIGHT PRESENTED BY WINNEBAGO COUNTY SOLID WASTE

The Wisconsin Herd will host a Go Green night and wwill wear theme jerseys that raise money for Winnebago Waterways Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance. Last season, the Jerseys represented a topographic map of the lakes in Winnebago County. Featured on the front of the jersey were Lake Poygan and the Wolf River. Lake Poygan was once known as one of the best places in the country for duck hunting. Also featured was Boom Bay off of Wolf River, which played a crucial role in directing logs to sawmills in Oshkosh. This area is currently home to a large shore land restoration project and a breakwater that was constructed to protect its shoreline. The back of the jersey showcased parts of Lake Winneconne, Wolf River, Lake Butte des Morts and Fox River. The number, name and waistband of the jerseys showcased a map of Winneconne which was originally left off the Wisconsin highway map. The village seceded from the state of Wisconsin and annually celebrates “The Sovereign State of Winneconne.”
