Jamie Winsted joined the Wisconsin Herd as a Communications Coordinator in January 2021.

Winsted leads the Wisconsin Herd Public Relations department serving as the primary media contact while also writing press releases, post-game recaps, game notes, and coordinating all interview requests. Jamie serves as the publisher of the Wisconsin Herd’s season media guide and team game day program. She runs point for the Wisconsin Herd Community Relations department working to connect the Herd with the community through donation requests, mascot & player appearances, and coordinating nonprofit involvement in theme nights through theme jerseys auctions, tabling, recognition, and pre-game programming. Under Jamie’s leadership, she helped create and launch successful Wisconsin Herd community outreach platforms including the annual “Run with the Herd 5K/1K” and the Wisconsin Herd Golf Outing fundraisers.

She started her career with the Wisconsin Herd as a PR/CR Intern in October 2021 before being promoted to full-time in her current position. Prior to joining the Herd, Winsted interned with WFRV Local 5 in Green Bay working with community and sports reporters. Winsted is a UW-Milwaukee graduate (2019-2021) where she received her bachelor’s degree in journalism, advertising/PR, and media studies. During her time at UW-Milwaukee, she wrote stories, created content for Media Milwaukee social media platforms, and worked for the ESPN production crew of all UW-Milwaukee games. She also served as a captain of the women’s club basketball team.

Winsted was awarded “Best Sports Story” by the Milwaukee Press Club for her work at Media Milwaukee. She was instrumental in helping the Wisconsin Herd win the NBA G League Franchise of the Year (2022-23), NBA G League President’s Choice Award (2021-22) and played an integral role in planning the Wisconsin Herd Black History Month Celebration which won NBA G League Promotion of the Year (2022-23).
