Jamie Winsted started with the Wisconsin Herd as a PR/CR intern in October 2021 before moving into a full-time role as a Communications Coordinator in January 2021. Winsted has been promoted to Public Relations & Community Relations Manager in which she manages the Herd Public Relations and Community Relations departments. Winsted serves as the primary media contact while writing press releases, post-game recaps, game notes, and coordinating all interview requests. She is the publisher of the season media guide and team game day program. Winsted manages the Herd’s television broadcasts inclusive of talent and coordinates with the Herd’s broadcast partner. She runs point for the Community Relations department weaving the Herd into the fabric of the community through donation requests, mascot & player appearances, and coordinating all nonprofit involvement. Under Winsted’s supervision, she launched and continues to build the Herd’s annual “Run with the Herd 5K/1K” and Golf Outing Fundraiser.
Prior to joining the Herd, Winsted interned with WFRV Local 5 in Green Bay. She is a UW-Milwaukee graduate (2019-2021) where she received a bachelor’s degree in journalism, advertising/PR, and media studies. During her time at UW-Milwaukee, she wrote news stories, created content for the Media Milwaukee social media platforms, and was awarded “Best Sports Story” by the Milwaukee Press Club for her work. Additionally, she worked for the ESPN production crew of all UW-Milwaukee home games and served as a captain of the women’s club basketball team.
