Title: Assistant Coach

Ongley joins the Wisconsin Herd as an Assistant Coach. With nearly two decades of coaching experience across NCAA Division I, Division III, and the high school ranks, Ongley is known for his strength in player development, strategy, and recruiting. Before coming to the Herd, Ongley spent four seasons on the staff at Howard University, aiding in the Bison’s 2023 MEAC regular season and tournament championships and their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 30 years. He has also held assistant coaching roles at Dartmouth, Columbia, and Colby College, and began his coaching career at the high school and AAU levels in Connecticut. A Connecticut native, Ongley played collegiately at Colby-Sawyer College, helping the Chargers win the Commonwealth Coast Conference championship in 2003. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history, magna cum laude, from
Southern Connecticut State University.
