SHORT-HANDED HERD FALLS TO BULLS

The Wisconsin Herd, NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, lost to the Windy City Bulls 127-103.

Milwaukee Bucks assignment player Chris Livingston led the Herd with 23 points while Aleem Ford added 21 points.

The Windy City Bulls top scorers were Adama Sanogo with a double-double of 29 points and 20 rebounds followed by Jalen Harris with 19 points.

The game started slow with neither team scoring until Aleem Ford connected on a layup at the nine-minute mark. Windy City got on the board after a layup, but Chris Livingston responded with back-to-back shots from deep to propel the Herd to an 8-2 lead. Windy City battled back to make it a two-point game before Stevie Thompson Jr. and Chris Livingston combined for seven straight points to take a near double-digit advantage. The Bulls worked back to come within three but Kihei Clark exploded for five points to give the Herd space. Windy City knocked down two more shots before Glenn Robinson III closed out the quarter with a three-pointer. The Herd held a 29-22 lead at the break.

Malachi Smith opened the second quarter with a deep shot to put the Herd up by 10. Windy City made a huge comeback with an 11-2 run to make it a one-point game halfway through the quarter. Kihei Clark broke up the Bulls’ run with a layup, but Windy City quickly rebounded with six straight points to go over the top. Aleem Ford evened the game 39-39 with a shot from beyond the arc. The game tied once more before Windy City pulled away with eight unanswered points. Each team knocked down three shots before the half ended in favor of the Bulls 56-48. Chris Livingston guided the Herd with 10 points in the first half.

Wisconsin started the third quarter with seven consecutive points to come within one, but the Bulls answered immediately with two buckets to go up by five. The teams traded baskets with the Bulls slowly gaining ground to go ahead by double-digits midway through the quarter. Wisconsin rebounded with an 11-3 run to make it a two-point game. The Herd stayed close with an answer to every Windy City basket until the Bulls broke away with 10 unanswered points to take a 12-digit head start.  Aleem Ford knocked down a three-pointer, but Windy City got the last basket of the quarter to go up 90-79.

Windy City continued to pull away, outscoring the Herd by nine to grab a 20-point lead early in the fourth quarter. Aleem Ford converted on back-to-back baskets to keep the Herd within striking distance. Windy City remained diligent, slowly climbing ahead to a 127-98 advantage with a minute left. Malachi Smith and Chris Livingston teamed up for five points to end the game. The Windy City Bulls beat the Wisconsin Herd 127-103.

The Herd will take on the Bulls for the final regular season game tomorrow, Mar. 30 with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m. CST.
