HERD WINS FINAL GAME OF THE 2023-24 SEASON

The Wisconsin Herd, NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, beat the Windy City Bulls 108-105.

Glenn Robinson III and Stevie Thompson Jr. powered the Herd with 29 points apiece while Milwaukee Bucks assignment player Chris Livingston added 20 points. Aleem Ford followed with a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds.

The Windy City Bulls top scorer was Jalen Harris with a double-double of 50 points and 12 rebounds while Adam Sanogo posted a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds.

Windy City converted on the first two plays of the game to pull away with a 4-0 head start. Aleem Ford knocked down a shot from deep before Glenn Robinson III connected on three straight baskets to go up 9-6. The Bulls scored once before Stevie Thompson Jr. got on the board with five unanswered points. Wisconsin pushed to an eight-point advantage until the Bulls stormed back with a 9-0 run to go ahead. Malachi Smith and Aleem Ford knocked down a three-pointer each to push the Herd over the top. The game was tied twice before Windy City hit the last basket of the quarter to grab a 28-26 lead.

The Bulls outscored the Herd 9-3 to take a near double-digit lead early in the second quarter. The teams traded baskets, but Windy City eventually pulled away with two to go ahead by 10 points midway through the quarter. Stevie Thompson Jr. and Glenn Robinson III combined for an 8-3 run to make it a six-point game. Wisconsin remained hot hitting a huge run outscoring the Bulls 9-4 for the last minute of the quarter. The Bulls remained ahead 59-55 at the break. Glenn Robinson III and Stevie Thompson Jr. led the Herd with 14 points each in the first half.

Stevie Thompson Jr. connected on a jump shot to start the third quarter and bring the Herd within two. Windy City knocked down one shot before Chris Livingston swished a deep three to make it a one-point game.  The Bulls pulled away again, but Chris Livingston kept the Herd within one after consecutive shots. Glenn Robinson III followed with two baskets to put Wisconsin over the top 68-67 halfway through the quarter. The lead was traded twice before the Bulls pushed ahead to a four-point advantage. Yor Anei and Stevie Thompson Jr. hit two points each to even the game. Each team converted one basket before the quarter ended tied at 79-79.

Wisconsin outscored Windy City 5-3 to take the lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter. The Bulls quickly responded by tying the game and then pushing ahead by two. The teams battled exchanging the lead four times before Windy City hit back-to-back shots to break the cycle. Chris Livingston answered with five straight points to take back the edge for the Herd. Windy City hit another six consecutive points going up 98-94 with four minutes remaining. Wisconsin looked for a comeback, but the Bulls had an answer for every basket keeping a two-point distance. With less than a minute remaining, Glenn Robinson III and Chris Livingston teamed up for five points to grab a 106-105 advantage. After two missed free throw attempts by the Bulls, Stevie Thompson Jr. was sent to the line where he secured two free throws. Windy City missed their last-second three-point attempt. Wisconsin took home the win 108-105 against the Bulls.

The Wisconsin Herd did not qualify for playoffs and will return for the 2024-25 season.
