Herd becomes first G League team to clinch a playoff spot this season
OSHKOSH, Wis (Mar. 1, 2020) – The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, clinched its first-ever playoff berth with last night’s 115-108 victory over the Westchester Knicks.
Through 40 games, the Herd have comprised a 31-9 record, which is currently the best mark in the league. With last night’s victory, Wisconsin tied the 2009-10 Iowa Energy and 2016-17 Raptors 905 for the second-most wins through the first 40 games of a G League season. The Herd have totaled three winning streaks of five games or more, including a 12-game streak that spanned 37 calendar days (Nov. 9-Dec. 14). In addition, Wisconsin has set a franchise-high in wins, surpassing its previous high of 21 which was set in the team’s inaugural campaign.

About the NBA G League Playoffs
The NBA G League playoffs features four rounds and is comprised of 12 teams – six in each conference. The six division winners will automatically qualify for the postseason, and the additional six playoff berths will be filled by three wild card teams in each conference. The six wild card teams will own the best overall regular season records, other than the division winners. The top two seeds in each conference will earn a first-round bye and will advance to the quarterfinals. Playoffs will begin with three single elimination rounds before culminating in a best-of-three NBA G League Finals.
